Yes. ORYVA uses a cooling fabric that feels noticeably cooler the moment your dog lies on it — no water, no gel, no refrigeration needed. It works by drawing your dog's body heat into the surrounding air, so on the hottest days it performs best in a shaded, fan-cooled or air-conditioned room rather than direct sun.

Most cooling mats feel stiff and plasticky — because they're built around a gel pouch, and no dog wants to sleep on a sloshing bag of coolant. Yes. Machine wash on a gentle cycle, then air dry — don't tumble dry, as heat can damage the cooling fabric. No bleach, no ironing. Between washes, a damp cloth handles most of it.

It keeps working for as long as your dog is lying on it — there's no timer and nothing to recharge or re-chill. If they get up and come back an hour later, it's ready again.

This is exactly why we went gel-free. There's no coolant pouch inside, so a bite or a claw doesn't cause a leak, a stain, or a panicked call to the vet — it's just fabric. That said, no mat is indestructible. We'd still supervise a determined chewer.
